The look of a shield - within or on the outside

What do you see, from the shield in front, a barrier to protect strong defense for the hunt.
The hard rugged exterior a shell than it could be, hiding the softness that is a scared quiet me.
This shield you see is not made of metal once done, it’s made from ones soul, of what ones needs

What do you see. . . .
A warrior with strenght, a fighter for all
A soldier in battle, or a knight walking tall.
For if a shield helps protect the one that is behind, this shells still is hiding what really inside.

What really you see. . .
A shield can hide a soldier but in actuality it was a child.
A shield can stop the hurt, but only for a little while.
A shield hides tears and shyness within,
the door to a brick wall not knowing where the other side begins.
A shield can make it easy to hide from the world,
away from word you want to say.

It’s a give and take of what is seen or what is behind.
The truth, in lies the pain
but one only being seen when he shield of victory is gained.
Who really wins while both souls stand in the rain.
Exposing themselves like looking through a leaded glass window pane.
